Connecting rods are the weakest mechanical part in power tools. They often break in order to prevent other parts from damaging and the reason is most commonly due to another problem in the machine.
Other cheaper brands of connecting rods are manufactured from poor quality materials, which don’t meet the HILTI standards and they break quicker. In order to make a quality repair and extend the lifetime of your tool, I recommend using only original parts. This will save you time and money for repair.
